JSMC/Microverse boat trip

07/28/2024 09:00 - 13:00 Rothenstein - Jena-Ost

We will go on a nice trip from Rothenstein to Jena-Ost either with canoes, kayaks or rafts (depending on how many people want to join). The tour is described as "medium difficulty", covers 14 km and will take about 4 hours incl. breaks. You do not need to have prior knowledge regarding paddling or be super sporty, just bring appropriate clothes, sunscreen/sun protection, a change of clothes/towel, drinks and snacks. We will not be in a hurry and have time to wait for everyone!

There will be an instruction in safety and behavioral rules, boat handling and paddling techniques. Additionally to boats, paddles and life jackets, they will provide us with route information and tips on weirs/locks.

Important: This time you can only join if you registered with us beforehand! Please find more detailed information below.

We will discuss start times with the organizers when we know how many people want to join; but we will probably start between 9 and 10 a.m. at canoe station Rothenstein, which is just a short regional train trip and a short walk away from Jena.

Costs
The rate is 34 € per adult. Transport from Jena to Rothenstein via regional train is free for students with Thoska or employees with DeutschlandTicket.

Registration
Please register with us by June 25th. Prior registration and payment are mandatory since we will need to book the boats and pay them in advance. In case of illness or any other reason why someone can't attend on short notice, you will get a voucher but not a refund.

Please register with Sarah via e-mail or in person during the next Friday seminar (June 21st). You can either pay in cash then (bring the correct amount please), or via PayPal. With prior registration and payment, you can of course also bring a friend who is not part of the JSMC/Microverse.
