Scientists from Jena and Munich discovered that Apolipoprotein E, which is produced naturally in the body, is a direct checkpoint inhibitor of unresolvable inflammation, and reducing C5 attenuates disease burden. The results of their study was published in the scientific journal Nature Medicine.
