New Teaching Guide: "Microbiology in Schools" – A Collaborative Project to Strengthen STEM Education (in German)

In collaboration with the Biology Education Research Group of the University of Jena, led by Prof. Uwe Hoßfeld, the new teaching guide "Microbiology in Schools" has been released and is now available for download as part of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse” education activities. This guide is designed for biology teachers of grades 7 to 12, providing concise, well-prepared information on microorganisms, culture media, and practical suggestions for classroom experiments.
The aim of this practical guide is to offer teachers valuable support in delivering microbiology content in their classes, topics which are often underrepresented in standard curricula.
A key feature of this project is the close collaboration between the Cluster of Excellence and the Biology Education Research team. This partnership bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and education, making complex scientific topics accessible for classroom teaching. The project demonstrates the commitment of the university and the Microverse to take on an active role in education and to develop new approaches for teaching scientific subjects.
