Kirsten Küsel is the Spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse” (since 2022) and Professor of Aquatic Geomicrobiology at the University of Jena’s Institute of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution.

Miriam Agler-Rosenbaum is a Board Member of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse” and Professor of Synthetic Biotechnology at the Hans Knöll Institute and the University of Jena, as well as Head of the Bio Pilot Plant.

Jürgen Popp is a Board Member of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse” and Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) in Jena, as well as Professor of Physical Chemistry II at the University of Jena.

I truly value this highly interactive and collaborative spirit, which allows us to tackle challenging problems from different angles.
Pierre Stallforth is a Board Member of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse,” Deputy Director of the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute (Leibniz-HKI) in Jena, Professor of Bioorganic Chemistry and Paleobiotechnology at the University of Jena, and Head of the Department of Paleobiotechnology at Leibniz-HKI.
