Junior Research Group Leader
We highly value the development of young scientists and are dedicated to providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Supporting the innovative work of junior researchers is a core part of our mission to advance science and technology.
Amelia Barber
Junior Research Group Leader "Fungal Informatics"
Investigate the interactions of fungi in their native environments as well as under conditions when they establish infections in humans.
My group studies how fungi cause human disease and acquire drug resistance using laboratory experiments and bioinformatics.
Amelia Barber is a Junior Research Group Leader at the University of Jena, part of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse”.
Martin Taubert
Junior Research Group Leader "Aquatic Geomicrobiology"
Exploring carbon fluxes in microbial communities, by combining metabolic labeling with omics approaches.
Aim of my research is to track carbon fluxes through complex microbial communities quantitatively and over time, from primary producers to obligate symbionts. This knowledge is crucial for understanding microbiome functioning.
Martin Taubert is a Junior Research Group Leader at the University of Jena, part of the Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse”.
Johannes Zimmermann
Junior Resarch Group Leader "Mechanisms of Metabolic Microbial Interactions"
Creating advanced models for microbial metabolic diversity, conceptualizing and forecasting microbiome life history traits, and identifying key characteristics that drive microbial interactions and functions.
I want to shape the profile of my junior research group by developing innovative methods to study microbial interactions. We will emphasize the importance of understanding microbial life history strategies.
