Microverse Imaging Center

We provide state-of-the-art light microscopy support for researchers of the Microverse Cluster. We are specialized in advanced fluorescence microscopy for highly sensitive imaging at high spatio-temporal resolution. In the future, the Imaging Center will be located in the new Microverse building, further enhancing our capabilities and fostering collaboration within the research community.

Photonic Space

To further strengthen our user-centered approach and foster the development of new microscopy technologies through interdisciplinary research, we are launching the Photonic Space. This initiative connects scientific prototypes, developed in Jena, with users and their biological samples, complementing the commercial microscopes at the Imaging Center. Supervised measurement slots are available for relevant projects, with synergies between application and development supported by our staff and workshops. The Photonic Space is primarily based at the Leibniz IPHT, with additional locations across Jena.

Collaboration for shared infrastructure

The Jena science network JenaVersum facilitates the shared use of research infrastructure and joint collaborations. As part of this initiative, the Microverse Cluster, including the Imaging Center, offers its microscopes for shared use. To support these efforts, JenaVersum provides the platform OpenIRIS, a free and open-source software that enables the discovery and sharing of research infrastructure.
